Finance plays an important role at EGA as a (1) “Strategic advisor” formulating & validating company strategy, (2) “Thought Partner” to all areas serving as a sanity check and involved on key decisions affecting business areas, (3) “Value Creator” focusing on achieving target financial returns and creating value for the company and shareholders, (4) “Intelligence & Insights Generator” providing insights from financial and management reports accurately and timely, (5) “Liquidity & Capital Assets Provider” ensuring liquidity and maintaining strong balance sheet to support future growth plans, (6) “Risk manager” developing and implementing financial risk mitigation strategies and maintaining robust internal controls to mitigate errors, frauds, and corruption among others, (7) “Stakeholders manager” building strong and trust-based relationships with key stakeholders and (8) “Subject Matter Expert” developing deep knowledge of the business and having fluency in financial calculations and outcomes.
