JOB PURPOSE:
The EGA Strategy, Corporate Development & Capital Markets team constitutes the internal team advising the Executive Committee and the Board of Directors on strategic matters including key investment and divestment decisions, new areas of the value chain to explore and overall strategic direction for the business.

The Senior Associate will drive and assist the Strategy, Corp.Dev & Capital Markets team on independent analysis and discussions that ensure the definition and execution of EGA’s strategy. Additionally, the Senior Associate will lead work-streams and small projects, develop and oversee various financial models for project assessment and valuations, drive implementation of strategic / value capture projects in coordination with the relevant business areas, and support in the overall execution of the strategy and the performance of EGA’s local and international assets, contributing to analysis of business development activities.

Additionally, the Senior Associate will oversee, train, coach and mentor one or more Associate


KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
EGA Strategy and Corporate Development

    Drives, assists on and leads one or more work-streams that contribute to the development of EGA’s strategy and business objectives.
    Supports definition and execution of EGA strategic priorities and the annual strategy development process.
    Supports the review, analysis, and syndication of new investment opportunities across the value chain and on a global basis. 

Value capture (internal consulting) and Ad Hoc Requests

    Develops performance improvement initiatives / projects: e.g. operation improvement OPEX/CAPEX reduction & engage appropriate functions to align and implement.
    Interprets results from multiple project components, data and translates these findings into clear and compelling recommendations and solutions  and builds strong business cases for new strategic initiatives / projects 
    Implements one or more initiatives / projects that cover all business areas of EGA and include both revenue enhancing initiatives as well as cost reduction (Opex and Capex) initiatives with measurable bottom line impact. 
    Conducts analysis of ad-hoc requests to identify whether the project could be profitable or contribute to the realization of EGA’s strategy.
    Gather, synthesize, analyse projects and investment opportunities and present findings to make recommendations to EGA’s Executive committee
    Support EGA’s (and wider UAE industry) decarbonization journey through selected acquisitions and in-house innovations

 

AUTHORITY/ DECISION MAKING:
    Coordinate implementation of specific strategic initiatives 
    Make key recommendations/decisions to specific projects/work-streams led by job holder, within scope of work
    The Senior Associate reports to a Manager in the Strategy and Corporate Development team and confers with him/her on all material and strategic issues of any nature in a timely and coherent manner
    The Senior Associate will coach and mentor Associates to ensure transfer of knowledge and to build sustained capability

 

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
Minimum Qualifications:

    Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration/ Finance/ Strategy or related specialization 

Minimum Experience:

    5 years relevant experience in Strategy, Finance or related business analysis in a reputable organization (consulting firm or  investment bank), experience in managing junior resources

 

Skills:

    Strong problem solving, analytical and financial modelling skills
    Ability to synthesize and interpret data
    Excellent communications and inter-personal relations skills
    Effective prioritization skills to meet a complex set of business demands 
    Proven ability to manage work-streams and junior resources
    Attention to detail
