Under direction of Director Culture and Employee Engagement and the Culture and Employee Engagement Lead, to support the design and implementation of EGA-wide cultural interventions that shape and evolve EGA’s culture to deliver on EGA’s purpose, bold aspirations and values. To lead and manage selected culture, employee engagement or diversity& inclusion initiatives within EGA to ensure successful implementation across the organisation. Acts as a champion for culture, employee engagement and diversity in EGA. Engages, influences and educates key stakeholder groups on all aspects of culture, diversity and engagement. Works closely with the Director of Culture and Employee Engagement and the Culture and Employee Engagement Lead to ensure that cultural health, employee engagement and diversity are kept high on the organisation’s agenda.

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

3.1 Culture, Employee Engagement and D&I Project Planning.

  • Supports the design of effective solutions to culture, diversity and employee engagement challenges and opportunities based on a systematic approach to current state/ future state analysis and assessment of strengths and gaps in EGA. Brings to bear an understanding of development, change management and learning and development interventions on these issues.
  • Participates in stakeholder engagement and communication activities, including leading and planning key events and activities. Acts as a champion for culture, employee engagement and diversity & inclusion in EGA.
  • Researches, recommends and supports implementation of high quality fit-for-purpose, culture and employee engagement approaches, processes and tools to enable effective and cost efficient delivery which is easily accessible, attractive and engaging for EGA colleagues (the end users/ recipients). 

3.2 Culture, Employee Engagement and D&I Project Delivery

  • Works with Directory Culture and Employee Engagement Culture and Employee Engagement Lead to design, build and deliver culture, employee engagement or D&I initiatives required to deliver EGA’s purpose, bold aspirations and values.
  • Ensures that all culture and employee engagement work and deliverables are developed and implemented effectively and efficiently; meet the business objectives and deliver quality outcomes of which the team and EGA can feel proud. This can include directly delivering key interventions or overseeing the delivery of interventions by EGA colleagues or 3rd party suppliers.
  • Works collaboratively with colleagues from across EGA and 3rd parties to inspire, engage and support individuals and teams through initiative delivery.
  • Report on status and progress to plan of initiatives, facilitating informed decision making to ensure that work remains on track as per agreed timelines, specifications and budget.
  • Communicate changes in line with accepted change management methodologies to ensure effective implementation and adoption, ultimately increasing likelihood of project success.
  • Undertake the necessary tasks and initiatives to ensure effective handover of the project to the concerned operational team when applicable.
  • Ensures that culture, diversity and employee engagement data is accurate, timely and readily available. Thereby allowing EGA’s Executive and Leaders to make informed, fact-based decisions on culture and employee engagement investment.

Policies, processes, procedures and compliance 

  • Oversee the implementation (as applicable) of policies, process and procedures related to the projects implemented to enable governance, minimize potential risk factors.

  • Delivers projects by effectively leading teams (whether cross functional or within the department).
  • Actively develops colleagues building their skills and capabilities.
  • Leads by example based on EGA’s Leadership Expectations model. Safety, Quality & Environment.
  • Ensure compliance to all relevant safety, quality and environmental policies, procedures and controls across in order to enable employee safety, legislative compliance and a responsible environmental attitude.

 

AUTHORITY/ DECISION MAKING: 

  • Works within established guidelines, policies and procedures under the guidance of Director Culture and Employee Engagement and the Culture and Employee Engagement Lead .
  • Subject to normal approvals within the EGA DoA for projects and investments.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree with preferably a post graduate degree / relevant qualifications (CIPD etc.). 

Minimum Experience: 5-8 years relevant experience in HR specialising in relevant topics e.g.: Organisation Development, Culture, Employee Engagement, D&I and Leadership Development / Learning OR appropriate operational and business experience.

Knowledge, skills and abilities: 

  • Relevant experience in key organisation development, employee engagement, change management and talent development theories, approaches, tools and techniques OR strong practical knowledge of EGA’s business, success drivers, people and culture. 
  • Knowledge of project management and change management practices.
  • Analytical and problem solving skill.
  • Effective interpersonal, presentation and communication skills.
  • Negotiation skills and the ability to plan and deliver projects .
  • Ability to engage, influence and steer teams and individuals.
  • Ability and willingness to learn new skills, adapt and grow.
  • Agile and resilient in the face of changes to project objectives, timeliness and personnel/roles.
