JOB PURPOSE:

Provides overall leadership and direction to all HC and Digital projects within Human Capital with a particular focus on Organization Efficiency Projects ensuring alignment with overall HC Framework of the corporate and business strategies whilst adopting state of the art digital practices to continually enhance HC excellence within EGA. Ensures effective alignment of HC digital projects and products with overall HC framework of the corporate and business strategies whilst adopting state of the art practices to continually explore avenues to create HC excellence within EGA.

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

 

Strategy Development and Implementation

  • Works to align the HC and digital project strategy with EGA’s purpose, bold aspirations, and values, incorporating feedback from the business and EGA’s people alongside best practice culture.
  • Directs the implementation of the functional strategy ensuring alignment to group strategy, EGA’s vision, mission, and corporate objectives.
  • Ensures that functional strategy and related strategic plans are developed and implemented, which are aligned with the vision and mission of the organization.
  • Ensures the provision of subject matter expertise for the assigned domain and provide counsel to EGA leadership on all related areas to facilitate the achievement of EGA’s strategy and functional strategies.
  • The role is required to formulate the HC digital vision, leveraging a deep understanding of Human Capital processes and procedures and cultivating strong stakeholder relationships to align teams with business objectives. Ensures that HC Digital development aligns with business goals and user feedback, while also providing technical guidance and overseeing product development.

 

Leadership

  • Manages the effective achievement of functional objectives through effective leadership and by setting of individual objectives, managing performance, developing, and motivating team to maximise performance.
  • Acts as a role model and drive adherence to organizational values and ethics by employees of the assigned function to ensure the establishment of a value driven culture within the organization.

  • Ensures proposed initiatives consider stakeholder perspectives, preference and challenges in addition to measuring cost impacts.
  • Proactively identifies, comprehends, and mitigates issues and risks in collaboration with project teams, business partners, and leadership, enabling a well-managed and risk-mitigated project environment
  • Identifies interdependencies within a dynamic product landscape and complex organization and creates awareness and understanding around it.
  • Provides oversight for all stages of the product development lifecycle, enabling seamless progression from concept to successful launch.

 

Budgeting and Financial Performance

  • Effectively manages budget, timeline, and scope throughout all assigned projects, certifying successful project delivery within defined constraints.
  • Estimates the work effort required, creates a resource plan, and adjusts program plans based on dependencies and capacity constraints.
  • Reviews business cases for proposed projects and track and communicate the realized value.

 

Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures

  • Develops and leads the implementation of functional policies, systems, processes, procedures, and controls covering all areas of assigned functional so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost-effective service in a consistent manner.

 

Project Management (Digital and HC Projects)

  • Leads and directs the successful planning and delivery of all strategic HC and digital HC projects in line with stakeholder expectations.
  • Works with each HC leader to identify projects that are supported by the long term HC strategy to create a short term and long term plan of projects that deliver to organization requirements
  • Identifies, validates and drives the implementation of complex, high risk and/or high intensity HC projects, such as HRIS convergence and evolution, designed to support business effectiveness.
  • Leads and directs the HC projects as per the agreed deadlines, specifications and budget in order to ensure adherence to EGA’s quality standards as well as business objective.
  • Ensures effective collaboration with external suppliers and vendors to ensure compliant and timely delivery of projects. Reviews all stage gates in the project process to ensure smooth implementation.
  • Designs the project management framework and methodology for each approved projects ensuring that relevant templates and standards, aligned with  international best practices, is available for relevant stakeholders
  • Define areas of digitisation and automaton for HC and defined HC projects and prioritizes key system features, overseeing the entire development process to ensure successful delivery from inception to production.
  • Takes accountability for scaling the defined solution across within HC and gaining buy-in from business users.
  • Facilitates digital release planning sessions with stakeholders, conducts regular demos, and manages a backlog of items across product teams, prioritizing them according to business objectives.
  • Embraces and works in an agile environment, keeping track of changing business needs and refining priorities accordingly.
  • Ensures overall management of the independent initiative teams to ascertain solutions are properly evaluated, implemented and tracked in a coherent and impactful manner while safeguarding employee engagement and effectiveness.
  • Ensures accurate cost impacts models are developed and support implementation teams.
  • Consolidates all projects within HC into a central project tracker and tracks all HC projects starting from feasibility up until project implementation.

 

 

Audit and Risk Management

  • Responsible for the management for all HC audit and risk programs.
  • Leads engagements Audit to ensure HC and manages implementation of all Audit requirements
  • Acts as the risk champion for Human Capital, liaising with relevant HC champions to ensure all risks are identified and sound action plans are defined and implemented as per the defined timelines.

 

Stakeholder Management

  • Develops and maintains effective business relationships with all relevant external/internal entities and all sections with the highest standards of business ethics, whilst promptly attending to all critical issues in-order to ensure the services required by the organisation are delivered in the most effective manner.     
  • Provides functional expertise and represents as the point of contact for external parties and consulting firms on matters related to Organizational Efficiency Projects.

 

Safety, Quality & Environment

  • Ensures compliance to all relevant safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures, and controls across the section to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance, and a responsible environmental attitude.

 

Change Management

  • Formulates change management and communication plans for key initiatives, facilitating effective implementation and communication of changes across the organization taking into account global standards and changes in the business environment which demand proactive action plans.

 

Reporting

  • Leads and directs the provision of centralized project tracking, costing and progress reports to key stakeholders and help drive continuous organizational efficiency improvement.
  • Ensures that all functional reports are prepared timely and accurately and meet EGA requirements, policies, and quality standards.
  • Monitors the progress of all Organizational Efficiency projects within EGA in order to facilitate informed reporting to the senior management and effective decision making.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field from a reputable university preferred

Minimum Experience:

  • 10 - 12 years of relevant experience
  • Significant Project Management experience, including managing large scale operational efficiency projects coupled with deep organizational knowledge.

Skills:

  • Knowledge of HC systems and processes
  • Excellent knowledge in Information Technology
  • Advanced Project management skills
  • Possess a formal Project Management qualification, such as PMP, PRINCE2, Agile Project Management, or an equivalent certification is a plus.
