Senior Technician - Mechanical (Crane Maintenance)
JOB PURPOSE:
Trouble-shoot, repair, re-commission and maintain efficiently a wide range of machinery and equipment in crance maintenace to ensure efficient operation and reduced production down time complying with EHS Guidelines with a focus on continuous improvement.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Tackles all crance mechanical equipment breakdowns and planned/preventive/ predictive maintenance work with minimum direction and supervision within the given time constraint minimizing production downtime.
• Identifies and reports any abnormalities. Repairs and /or replaces parts required, re-assemble and test the equipment, leaving the working area clean. Technically assesses the requirement of allocated jobs and selects the necessary tools and equipment to complete such work.
• Using the computerized maintenance system (SAP), orders the spare parts from warehouse and maintains records of all maintenance work completed.
• Ensures that all maintenance work is carried out in accordance with the safety procedures and plant operational requirements. Documents all maintenance work in the maintenance management system efficiently.
• Monitors any repeated breakdowns, conducts RCFAs and recommends/completes proper modification to resolve the problem permanently.
• Provides on the job training to new craftsmen/contractor in order to equip them with the necessary skills to be able to carry out maintenance repair work as planned.
• Continuously works towards improving EHS and Plant & Equipment performance by participating in Suggestion Scheme, 5S, TAMAHAL, Hazard Reporting, etc.
• Leads the team for specified allocated tasks.
• Effectively diagnoses mechanical/hydraulic/pneumatic breakdowns/failures & troubleshoot failures of plant and equipment with minimal direction.
• Completes checks, adjustments, Maintenance, Overhauling on any mechanical equipment whenever necessary or as directed by his superior in compliance with EGA safety standards.
• Perform other related duties as communicated by supervisor.
• Provide guidance and expertise to other divisions when required.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
Minimum Qualifications:
• Diploma in relevant field
• Completion of PEC Craft Training
Minimum Experience:
• 5 Years’ of relevant experience in a heavy industry specially in crance maintenance after Diploma
• 2 Years’ Mechanic experience after PEC Training
Skills:
• Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English
• Familiarity with all maintenance tools with good computer skills
• Exposure to installation & troubleshooting
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings/manuals/instructions
