1. JOB PURPOSE:

Plan and conduct various measurements and sampling related to the process Gas Treatment Centres/Fume Treatment Centres, Bath Processing Facilities and Pot Feed Systems to control the process. Assist the Senior Technician in studying, analysing, investigating & controlling process deviations, initiating & following up corrective actions as well as carrying out improvement projects/study and development work.

2. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Measurements and Reporting

• Complete the routine measurements at GTC/FTCs/FTP/BPF to with quality standards and safety. Record the data on timely basis in specified system without error. Identify the abnormal measurements with possible reasons and recommendations.  

Management of Measuring Instruments and Equipment

• Maintain the tools and equipment and avoid damage of the tools.
• Calibration of measuring meters to be maintained as per the procedure.

Data Analysis & Troubleshooting

• Prepare the daily plant reports and highlights the abnormalities with valid reasons.
• Follow up with the operation team to close the abnormal observations .

SOP and TRA Management

• Support and participate in the SOP and TRA preparations and review.

Communication and Collaboration

• Interacts with General superintendent and Snr. Technician for job planning and feedback purposes. Discusses plant condition with area supervisor to ensure that measurements are carried out on normal conditions and to provide feedback on abnormalities. Interacts with laboratory analysts, GTC/FTP /BPF supervisors, for sampling and analysis of various in-process and raw materials.

Project Support

• Supports Senior Technician in GTC/FTP/BPF/Potlines for trials or projects by conducting required measurements, data analysis, investigations, and report writing, and supports decision-making to ensure successful project outcomes.

Acting in Senior Roles

• Handle Senior responsibilities in the absence of the Senior Technician.

3. QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

Minimum Qualifications:

• Science graduate preferably with Chemistry / Physics as one of the majors. Or Plus 2 with Science and a Diploma in chemical or metallurgical disciplines from a recognised institute.  

Minimum Experience:

• Experience with processes related to Potline, Gas Treatment Centres (GTC), Fume Treatment Plants (FTP), Pot Feed Systems, and Bath Processing Facilities (BPF).
• The job holder should have 3–5-year experience in a continuous process industry and knowledge of statistical principles and use of spreadsheets and database programs on personal computers.

Skills:

• Software & statistical Applications: iRPMS / EPMS, Historian, MES, Smelter analytics, excel and Power BI
• Data Management: Conversant with spreadsheet and database programs of personal computers for analysing the monitored data in various areas.
• Soft Skills: Planning and Organizing, Flexibility& Adaptability, Results/Quality, Effective Communication & Teamwork, Problem Solving, and time management.
