Emirates Global Aluminium is the world’s biggest ‘premium aluminium’ producer and the largest industrial company in the United Arab Emirates outside the oil and gas industry. EGA is an integrated aluminium producer, with operations on four continents from bauxite mining to the production of cast primary aluminium and recycling. JOB PURPOSE:
The Senior On the Job Coach is responsible for enhancing the operational and technical capabilities of middle to senior EGA employees within specific areas of operations and maintenance through targeted coaching and mentoring. By conducting structured skill assessments, providing hands-on coaching, and facilitating the On-Job Excellence Program (OJEP). The Senior On the Job Coach ensures that employees achieve and maintain high levels of technical proficiency, operational safety, and compliance for more complex roles. This role is pivotal in capturing and transferring critical knowledge of middle to senior level roles, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and supporting the organization's strategic goals, including the advancement of Emiratization initiatives.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Ensure continuous improvement and idea generation
Facilitate ongoing enhancement of processes and activities by fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation. This role involves identifying improvement opportunities, generating innovative ideas, and implementing effective solutions.
Leads initiatives for continuous improvement and innovation within the domain. Stays abreast of industry trends, explores new technologies, and implements changes to enhance efficiency, reduce energy consumption, and improve overall performance.
Stakeholder Engagement
Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Effectively communicate and collaborate with a range of stakeholders, including senior management, project teams, and external partners. Ensure that all parties are aligned with the contract objectives and organisational goals. Facilitate stakeholder meetings and updates to maintain transparency and mutual understanding throughout the contract lifecycle.
Ensure conformance to ESG & EHS compliance
Oversee and ensure adherence to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) and Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) compliance standards. This role involves monitoring compliance, identifying areas for improvement, and supporting the implementation of corrective actions.

Technical Skill Assessment
Conduct thorough assessments of operational employees’ technical skills.
Responsible for evaluating employees' technical skills through structured observation and assessment cycles. This includes providing feedback and certifying the mastery level of employees in specific operational tasks, ensuring they meet the organization’s standards of operational excellence.
Development Coaching
Deliver targeted coaching to enhance employees' technical proficiency. Adapt coaching methods to meet the varying needs of employees and operational demands.
Provide hands-on coaching to employees, focusing on skill tuning for specific tasks identified during assessments. This involves working closely with employees in the field, offering real-time guidance and support to improve their technical abilities and operational efficiency. Adjust coaching styles and content to suit the diverse learning styles, skill levels, and job roles of employees. This flexibility ensures that coaching is effective and relevant, even as operational circumstances and requirements change.
Knowledge Capture & Transfer
Capture and document tacit knowledge to support continuous learning.
Capture critical operational knowledge from experienced employees and transfers it to newer team members through structured coaching programs. This ensures the sustainability of operational expertise within the organization and supports the development of knowledge resources for future use.
Performance Monitoring & Reporting
Monitor employee progress and report on skill development outcomes. Certify the mastery level of employees in their operational roles.
Track the progress of employees' skill development, generating detailed reports that highlight areas of improvement and focus for the next review cycle. These reports are shared with area leaders to align coaching efforts with operational priorities and strategic goals. Determine whether an employee has achieved mastery in their operational role. This involves rigorous assessment and validation of skills, ensuring that only those who meet the high standards of proficiency are certified as masters in their respective tasks.
Training Needs Identification
Identify and address skill gaps through formal and informal training interventions.
Assess the need for additional training programs and coordinate with Training Specialists to ensure employees receive the necessary training to meet operational demands.
Resource and Equipment Management for training and/or on the job coaching
Coordinate the availability of necessary resources for effective training and on the job coaching
Ensure that all required equipment and resources are available for training sessions, addressing any issues promptly to avoid disruptions in the coaching process.
Support Emiratization Objectives
Contribute to the nationalization goals of the organization.
Provide dedicated coaching and support to UAE nationals, helping them develop the necessary skills to meet EGA’s nationalization targets and advance within the organization.
Authority/ Decision making:
- Works and reports to his / her Line Manager on matters such as approvals for training budgets, changes to policies and procedures while working in the assigned plant area.
- Makes decisions related to the Coaching and assessment of trainees within agreed procedures and standards.Responsible for Coaching in assigned area, including evaluation of training in the classroom and on the plant.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
Diploma or technical diploma in relevant discipline.
Minimum of 15 years’ experience in EGA with 10 years in current role.
