JOB PURPOSE:

JOB PURPOSE

The Product Analyst - FinOps supports the full lifecycle of Cloud Financial Management by providing accurate analysis, insights, and reporting that strengthen cost transparency, optimisation initiatives, and financial governance across EGA. The role works closely with cloud teams, developers, product owners, and Finance to help maximise the value of cloud spend and ensure alignment with organisational priorities.

The role contributes to the maturity of the FinOps operating model by applying global best practices from the FinOps Foundation, supporting governance activities, and helping improve tagging compliance, cost allocation, and cloud consumption visibility.

The Product Analyst manages day to day analytics within core FinOps platforms such as Apptio Cloudability and Unravel for Databricks. This includes preparing dashboards, validating data quality, tracking KPIs, highlighting cost anomalies, and providing insights that guide optimisation decisions.

The role supports budgeting, forecasting, Azure and Databricks cost efficiency initiatives, and contract related savings analysis. They apply strong analytical, financial, and problem-solving skills to provide the data needed for informed cloud investment decisions.

This role requires a blend of financial expertise, cloud cost management understanding, and product support skills to help embed FinOps principles across engineering and business teams

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Monitor the performance of products over their lifecycle, identify patterns and trends that indicate how well a product performs on the market, and subsequently monitor sales numbers and gather customer feedback data to gauge performance.
  • Analyze and interpret complex data sets to extract actionable insights.
  • Provide data-driven recommendations to enhance and optimize IT products.
  • Develop comprehensive reports and presentations utilizing charts, graphs, and tables to share with various stakeholders.
  • Effectively communicate data findings to various stakeholders for informed decision-making.
  • Present findings to senior management, substantiating product recommendations through clear and compelling presentations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to influence product planning and development.
  • Identify areas for improvement in the product lifecycle through insightful analysis.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to understand IT product requirements and challenges.
  • Foster effective communication channels to facilitate alignment between IT solutions and business needs.
  • Present findings and insights to senior management, justifying product recommendations.
  • Contribute to strategic decision-making by providing valuable perspectives based on data analysis.

 

AUTHORITY/ DECISION MAKING:

Key decisions having significant impact on the department are referred to the reporting manager for approval before implementation.

Job holder exercises financial authority as per the level established by the company board and stipulated in the authority matrix.

 

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, or Information Technology from a reputable university. (Master’s Degree preferred)

Minimum Experience:

  • 2+ years of experience in a similar role

Job-Specific Skills (Generic / Technical):

  • Excellent knowledge in Information Technology or Product Analysis
  • Advanced customer service orientation
  • Ability to work in a team environment and sometimes independently with minimal supervision as the task may be from time to time
  • Strong conflict management, facilitation, and resolution skills
  • Excellent use of the English (must) and Arabic language (preferred)
