Emirates Global Aluminium is the world’s biggest ‘premium aluminium’ producer and the largest industrial company in the United Arab Emirates outside the oil and gas industry. EGA is an integrated aluminium producer, with operations on four continents from bauxite mining to the production of cast primary aluminium and recycling. EGA employs over 7,000 of these people including more than 1,200 UAE Nationals. EGA operates aluminium smelters in Jebel Ali and Al Taweelah in the United Arab Emirates, an alumina refinery in Al Taweelah, a bauxite mine and associated export facilities in the Republic of Guinea, a speciality foundry in high strength recycled aluminium in Germany, and a recycling plant in the United States.
JOB PURPOSE
To lead the strategic alignment and delivery of the Digital Transformation (DT) product portfolio focused on EHS and Sustainability, ensuring all platforms and solutions directly support EGA’s business goals. This role provides technical leadership across multiple products, overseeing a team of product owners and subject matter experts, and drives the planning, development and continuous improvement of enterprise-level platforms using agile methodologies. The role requires deep expertise in EHS and ESG systems and processes, combined with strong stakeholder engagement, cross-functional collaboration and the ability to translate business needs into scalable digital solutions.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
• Drive the alignment of the Digital Transformation (DT) portfolio with business goals, guaranteeing that products contribute significantly to the company's strategic objectives in EHS and Sustainability
• Provide technical leadership to the team of product owners and technical experts, guiding them in planning, building and running enterprise-level platforms
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and execute a comprehensive roadmap, making sure that it reflects evolving business requirements and advances EGA's digital leadership
• Create a nurturing environment for digital talent, fostering an atmosphere aligned with EGA values and leadership principles
• Play an advisory role by assisting stakeholders in identifying business needs, validating industry standards and providing insights to guide decision-making and designing solutions in EHS and Sustainability with existing expertise of EHS and ESG processes and systems across industry
• Establish and nurture positive relationships within various business areas, identifying opportunities and skilfully managing conflicts and escalations
• Understand the intersection of vision, strategy and execution and utilize this information to lead product progress according to plan, with a focus on achieving measurable outcomes
• Manage interdependencies with other product teams and forge partnerships across different teams to enhance the overall success of the product line
• Collaborate closely with designated product teams to guarantee the delivery of business value and foster user feedback-oriented development
AUTHORITY / DECISION MAKING
• Key decisions having significant impact on the department are referred to the reporting manager for approval before implementation
• Job holder exercises financial authority as per the level established by the company board and stipulated in the authority matrix
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related degree from a reputable university (Master’s degree preferred)
Minimum Experience
• 10+ years of experience in a similar role
Job-Specific Skills (Generic / Technical)
• Demonstrated experience in providing technical leadership within an agile development framework, with a track record of successfully aligning products with business goals
• Advanced customer service orientation
• Good experience in SAP and non-SAP solutions in EHS and Sustainability (ESG) solution design and configuration
• Good overall integration knowledge of processes and systems
• Understanding of OSHA, ISO14001, ISO 45001 and sustainability standards such as GRI
• Deep understanding of incident management, OHS, environmental, waste management, product safety, hazard management and all safety processes along with sustainability processes and systems
• Inclination and understanding in delivering innovative technology solutions
• Ability to work in a team environment and independently with minimal supervision when required
• Strong conflict management, facilitation and resolution skills
• Excellent command of English (required), Arabic is a plus
• Excellent relationship building skills
• Experience working in a multi-cultural environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
• Ability to scan the external environment and understand the impact on the business
• Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills
• Good understanding of UAE and EGA culture and working environment
