About Emirates Global Aluminium
Emirates Global Aluminium is the world’s biggest ‘premium aluminium’ producer and the largest industrial company in the United Arab Emirates outside the oil and gas industry. EGA is an integrated aluminium producer, with operations on four continents from bauxite mining to the production of cast primary aluminium and recycling. EGA employs over 7,000 of these people including more than 1,200 UAE Nationals. EGA operates aluminium smelters in Jebel Ali and Al Taweelah in the United Arab Emirates, an alumina refinery in Al Taweelah, a bauxite mine and associated export facilities in the Republic of Guinea, a speciality foundry in high strength recycled aluminium in Germany, and a recycling plant in the United States.
JOB PURPOSE:
To conduct research & analysis that ensures the definition and execution of EGA strategy, develop various financial models for project assessment and valuations, tracking of strategic / value capture projects in coordination with the relevant business area, and tracking the overall execution of the strategy and the performance of EGA’s international assets, contributing to analysis of business development activities.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Information Intelligence
▪ Proactively carries out research in prevailing global industry trends / market strategies and provides market intelligence of the team in order to facilitate management decision-making in determining development metrics
▪ Collects and assesses data from a variety of internal and external sources and presents the same to the management to facilitate decision making.
Business case development
▪ Prepares financial models, under the guidance of the Associate/Manager in order to facilitate accurate evaluation of projects/initiatives’ economic performance & risk assessment
▪ Participates in the analysis of actual results, drawing conclusion, by closely working with the Associate/Manager as to assists in establishing strong business cases.
Presentations and reporting
▪ Develops strategic presentations, proposals and analysis for both internal and external audiences as requested by management
▪ Prepares, gathers and synthesizes performance dashboards (KPIs) to assist in monitoring, tracking and refining them in coordination with relevant business areas.
Support Project Management/Strategic initiatives execution
▪ Supports and works with project managers who lead strategic planning, business analysis and other internal consulting projects that drive high impact improvements and lead to profitable growth of EGA
▪ Proactively provides special project support and other job-related duties as assigned by updating/maintaining relevant analysis and presentations as needed.
Relationship Management
▪ Develops and maintains effective business relationships with all relevant external/internal entities such as consultants, process owners of the asset, and all other sections with highest standards of business ethics, whilst promptly attending to all critical issues in-order to ensure the services required by the organization are delivered in the most effective manner
Continuous Improvement
▪ Contributes to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of research systems, financial modelling methodologies, processes and practices taking into account ‘international best practice’, improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement
▪ Keeps abreast of new methodologies, processes, systems and market trends as to contribute to improve project management, investment evaluation, cost control etc.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
Minimum Qualifications:
▪ Bachelor’s degree in Economics/Engineering/Business Management
Minimum Experience:
▪ 1-3 years of experience in Market research, Investment Analysis in a reputable organization
▪ Knowledge of work flow/process mapping.
▪ Knowledge on the industry best practices.
Skills:
▪ Strong quantitative, analytical and financial modelling skills
▪ A thorough understanding of the importance of data integrity.
