Supply Chain Management / Supply Chain Logistics
JOB PURPOSE
To ensure and oversee all activities and the shipment of all major raw materials are efficiently and effectively co-ordinated and monitored by meeting the requirement for the supply and production of molten aluminium.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Planning and Scheduling
- Oversee that the planning and scheduling of receipt of strategic raw materials like alumina, coke, pitch, Alf3 and baked anodes, advise operations on incoming ships and stay updated on the unloading, storage and delivery of raw materials to operations to enable uninterrupted production
Loading and Arrival
- Liaise closely with shipping lines, suppliers and port authority on vessel schedules regarding loading and arrival dates to avoid clashes and payment of demurrage for late material discharge
- Co-ordinate with the Dock Operation Maintenance staff to ensure the maximum availability of plant/ equipment and able to receive incoming raw materials deliveries
Documentation and Data Entry
- Prepare necessary purchase requisitions for supply and shipping lines as per annual requirements
- Prepare the complete planning process in SAP-TSW system and release a call of purchase order for each shipment on time
Safety, Quality & Environment
- Complies with all relevant safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures and controls to ensure a healthy and safe work environment
Related Assignments
- Performs other related duties or assignments as directed
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, preferably in Supply Chain / Material Management, or any related specialization
- Diploma / Certification in Procurement and Contracts is preferred
Minimum Experience:
- 2 - 3 years relevant experience in logistics or shipping in a similar industry
Skills:
- Good knowledge of the aluminium smelting industry
- Knowledge on the market trends on vendors for freight management, delivered costs, etc.
- Strong knowledge of logistics planning and control, inventory control and materials handling activities
- Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
