JOB PURPOSE:

Perform a wide range of duties relating to the electrical installation, repair, and maintenance and troubleshooting of machinery, equipment and fixtures to ensure their efficient operation at minimum downtime complying with EHS Guidelines with a focus on continuous improvement.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Attends all electrical equipment breakdowns such as LV-MV motors, LV Switchboards, MCCs, Plant lightings, Transformers, UPS, VFD, Breakers, Soft starter, etc. In addition, carries out planned/preventive/predictive maintenance within the given time constraints minimizing production downtime.
• Identifies and reports any abnormalities. Repairs and /or replaces parts required, re-assemble and test the equipment, leaving the working area clean.
• Technically assesses the requirement of allocated jobs and selects the necessary tools and equipment to complete such work.
• Effectively diagnoses electrical breakdowns/failures & troubleshoots electrical failures of plant and equipment.
• Using the computerized maintenance system (SAP), orders the necessary spare parts from warehouse and maintains records of all maintenance work completed.
• Completes all maintenance work  in accordance with the safety procedures and plant operational requirements.
• Monitors any repeated breakdown, completes RCFAs and recommends/takes up proper modification to resolve the problem.
• Provides on the job training to new craftsmen/contractors in order to equip them with necessary skills to be able to complete maintenance activities.
• Continuously works towards improving EHS and Plant & Equipment Performance by participating in 5S, Business Excellence and Safety Initiatives.
• Leads the team for allocated tasks as directed by the Supervisor.
• Performs other related duties as required by supervisor.
• Provide guidance and expertise to other divisions when required 

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

Minimum Qualifications:

• Diploma in relevant field
• Completion of PEC Craft Training

Minimum Experience:

• 5 Years’ relevant experience in a heavy industry after Diploma
• 2 Years’ experience as an electrician after PEC Training

Skills:

• Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English
• Familiarity with all maintenance tools and should have good IT Skills
• Expertise in installation & troubleshooting
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings/manuals/instructions
